FIRST EDITION OF THIS MAGNIFICENT BOOK ON PERSPECTIVE. Jamnitzer was the best known German goldsmith of his era and worked for a succession of Emperors, including Charles V, Ferdinand I, Maximilian II, and Rudolf II. He is thought to have invented an embossing machine and he performed scientific studies to improve the technical knowledge of his guild. Perspectiva Corporum Regularium, based on Plato's Timaeus and Euclid's Elements, is highly prized for its striking engravings of polyhedra.
